A Sufi mystic & poet, Hamal Khan was the son of Raheem Khan Laghari. He was born in 1809 AD/ 1225 AH. His ancestors lived in the Khairpur state. As he grew up he moved to the village Mir Khan Laghari, Sakrand, Nawabshah, Sindh.
He was well educated and chose teaching, for his career. He was the disciple of Masters of Lavaree Sharif. He was a great poet of Sindhi & Siraiki languages and composed poetry in various genres. Hamal Faqir passed away on the 2nd of Safar 1291 AH/ 1878 AD. His works have been published as Kuliyat-e-
