Sufi Qadir Buksh ‘Bedil’
One of the legendary poets and Sufi masters of the Indus Valley was Abdul Qadir alias Qadir Buksh ‘Bedil’ of the historical Rohri. His father was a dervish himself and he was known as Dervish Mohammed Hassan. Bedil was born in 1230 AH/ 1814 AD. He was educated in theology and Arabic and Persian languages. He was greatly inspired by Qalander Lal Shahbaz of Sehwan and was his aficionado. Sufi Qadir Buksh Bedil was a contemporary poet and a friend of Sachal Sarmast of Darazaan. 
He is the author of many a books on Islamic social science, Sufi disciplines, one of his great works in Persian is titled Panj Gunj (The Five Treasures), & another is Divan-e-Bedil.
Bedil was a great poet of Sindhi, Siraiki, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, and Marwardi-dialect languages. He departed in the year 1873 AD/1249 AH and his mausoleum is in Rohri. Account of his life and most of his works have been published.
